General Information
We're recruiting for a Senior Pig Stockperson for an indoor farm in Aberdeenshire, AB53.
The family business farms 600 acres and operates an indoor 840-sow unit, from farrowing to finishing, on slats. The unit is relatively new, having been started in 2010 and completed in 2018.
The unit seeks an experienced individual to manage/assist the dry sow house, which includes gilt selection/reguminate, plus:
- Applicants must be confident in inseminating sows with high conception targets
- Dry sow management
- Computer knowledge is required to manage the feeding systems and Agrovision
- The ability to use a loadall is helpful
- Ability to farrow with an electronic feeding system, raised floors, milk cups and piglet creep feeders
- Power washing, daily cleaning, and good clean housekeeping are expected
- Ability to assist in the farrowing house, nursery, and finishing sheds
Training will be given to those who need it.
Salary guide: £37,000 - £45,000 p/a DOE

Hours:
Work one weekend on and one off, but the unit plans to move to work one weekend on and two off.
