We're recruiting for a Pig Stockperson for an outdoor breeding unit in North Norfolk.

You will play an important role in maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and herd health for a nationally leading pig business.

Working as part of an experienced team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care of breeding pigs and piglets. You will receive full support from your manager and have access to modern, well-maintained equipment and tractors.

About the Business:

This is a family-run business operating a number of breeding and finishing units across Norfolk, Suffolk and Lincolnshire.

 

Your Responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of animal welfare at all times
• Provide excellent day-to-day care for the pigs
• Feed livestock using a trailed feeder, tote bin and scoop
• Carry out daily health checks and provide treatment when required
• Maintain electric fencing to ensure the safety of both livestock and the public
• Strim around electric fencing to prevent unwanted earthing
• Support with the wider maintenance of the farm to ensure excellent presentation standards and a safe working environment
• Wash and clean tents and huts between batches to maintain high standards of biosecurity
• Carry out artificial insemination of breeding stock
• Escort gilts and sows to the service hub
• Assist with the culling and preparation of sows, boars, weaners and piglets for transport when required
• Follow all company procedures and Health & Safety requirements
• Attend mandatory training sessions
• Carry out other duties as required, according to your skills and capabilities
