We're recruiting for a Pig Stockperson for an indoor unit in Berwickshire, TD11.

Our client operates a 1,200-sow indoor multiplication unit producing gilts for the company's supply chain. They are currently refurbishing the site, which will be fully automated and fed using the latest tech, with handheld data recording. 

They are a leading pig producer, working with over 350 partnership farmers to supply high-welfare, quality pork products to premium markets. 

Job description:

• Work as part of a small team, carrying out general tasks
• Pig husbandry
• Feeding
• Bedding up
• Cleaning
• Movement of pigs
• Prioritising the well-being of the pigs, with the highest standards of animal welfare and safety at all times

 

Person specifications:

• Previous experience of working with pigs is desirable
• Passion for working within a team
• Ideally, you will be IT literate, able to maintain accurate, up-to-date data/KPI records
• Ability to carry out manual work on the farm
• High animal welfare standards
• You must also have a full driver's licence

 

 

Salary guide: £28,000 - £34,000 DOE

• On-site static caravan, possibly available

• Paid holidays

 

Hours:

07:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday, plus every other weekend. Flexibility is needed during busier times.
